Warrington Asset Management, a Dallas-based option-focused Hedge Fund, announced today that Christian Johnson has joined the firm as Global Head of Strategic Business Development. Mr. Johnson has a 25-year history in the alternative investments industry, beginning his career with Prudential-Bache Securities in 1990 in the futures research department under the tutelage of Jack Schwager, author of the “Market Wizards” series.

“Christian brings a deep knowledge of the alternatives business as well as a strong network that will aid in the growth of Warrington Asset Management as we seek to expand our investor base,” said Scott Kimple, founder, principal and portfolio manager of Warrington. “His institutional investor ties will provide a major boost to our visibility. He knows the business of raising assets but also understands that providing an exemplary level of customer service to our existing and prospective investors is equally important to Warrington.”

Mr. Johnson commenced his sales career at Prudential in 1998 raising assets for multi-billion dollar hedge funds and funds of hedge funds. Following his time at Prudential, Mr. Johnson worked at The Kenmar Group, a fund of hedge funds, in its Global Sales & Business Development department. After The Kenmar Group, he worked with Alphametrix, then the largest independent Managed Account Platform, as Director of Business Development. Most recently, he led the sales efforts at a London-based Global Macro hedge fund, followed by a Connecticut-based Global Macro firm.

“Warrington has a great pedigree with their long-term associations with Shearson, Smith Barney, and Morgan Stanley, and Scott and his team have a strong 18-year track record trading option spreads on the S&P 500 Index futures incorporating disciplined risk management. Now that they have separated from Morgan Stanley, they are focused not only on performing, but they have also built out a strong infrastructure to handle new assets,” said Mr. Johnson. “The advantage of the Warrington program is it offers a unique strategy that is non-correlated to the S&P and Global Hedge Fund Indices. That will be very appealing to my institutional prospects and to the RIA, broker-dealer channels.”
